“There are many reasons that motivate me to better educate myself and others
Special dietary requirements for good health and peak performance are crucial when trying to compete against the best athletes in the world. Ensuring maximum energy for high intense training and recovery, while also cutting down on body fat to aid performance.
I consider good nutrition to be a very important and preventative measure of many physical and medical conditions, and therefore cannot be ignored. I believe that despite major public awareness and advertising, people still require improved education in nutrition and must have easy access to practical guidelines. Education should begin as early as possible so that good nutrition becomes a lifestyle, and I believe that programs for school children can be delivered through fun and practical learning experiences.
The whole topic of nutrition has often been an area of controversy involving various ‘fad’ methods of weight loss, and I would like to see these ‘fad’ diets become extinct and instead be replaced by healthy long term and performance enhancing nutrition.
I am a graduate of a BSc Joint Honours Degree in Sport and Business Studies. I hold the UK Athletics Coaching Awards Levels 1,2 and Level 3. I am also fully acredited level 3 UKSCA (Strength and Conditioning Award). I have a great interest in and attend lectures and conferences in the areas of Speed and Strength. Nutrition is obviously of major importance in the development of these areas and in the role of recovery, allowing an athlete to successfully and effectively handle a particular training program.”
